Presidency Dismisses Viral Honours List Featuring Aisha Yesufu as Fake

The Presidency has debunked a circulating list of national honours claiming activist Aisha Yesufu was among recent awardees, labeling the report as false and misleading.

Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, clarified the matter in a statement on Wednesday.

 According to him, no new list of honourees has been released apart from the one mentioned during the president’s official address to the joint session of the National Assembly.

“The story about a national honours list featuring Aisha Yesufu and others, reportedly from Leadership newspaper, is fake news,” Ajayi said. “It should be completely disregarded. The Presidency has not issued any new list beyond what was publicly presented by President Tinubu.”
