Pope Leo Speaks Out Against ‘Terrible Massacre’ in Benue’s Yelwata
Pope Leo has condemned the “terrible massacre” that resulted in the deaths of nearly 200 people in Yelwata, Benue State, calling for peace and justice in the region.
The Pope made his remarks on, Sunday, June 15, just before delivering the Angelus prayer at the Vatican.
He addressed the incident, which was allegedly carried out by suspected herdsmen starting from late Friday, June 13, and continuing into the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025
