Over 300,000 Boko Haram Members and Families Have Surrendered — Governor Zulum

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has revealed that in the past three to four years, more than 300,000 former Boko Haram fighters and their family members have laid down their arms and surrendered to authorities.

Describing the development as a major achievement, Governor Zulum said the mass surrender is a positive step toward restoring lasting peace in the region. 

He noted that the figure represents not just combatants, but also women and children who had been part of or affected by the insurgency.
