Nurse Who Treated Mohbad Speaks on His Final Moments

Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated the late singer Ilerioluwa "Mohbad" Aloba, has detailed the events leading to his tragic death.

Testifying at the Coroner's Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, Ogedengbe stated that on September 12, 2023, Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami "Spending" Sodig, contacted her for medical assistance. Upon arrival at the singer's Lekki residence around 2:30 p.m., she observed that he had a swollen cut on his right hand.

She administered a tetanus injection on his upper arm and, after confirming he had an ulcer, opted for a paracetamol injection instead of diclofenac. Additionally, she gave him an intravenous ceftriaxone injection for bacterial infection.

However, after receiving 2 ml of the injection, Mohbad complained of nausea and went to vomit. Upon returning, he developed goosebumps. His wife, Wunmi, claimed this was a common reaction to injections and poured water on him.

Sensing an allergic reaction, Ogedengbe and Ayobami rushed to buy hydrocortisone and saline infusion. While at the pharmacy, they received a call that Mohbad was convulsing. She immediately advised that he be taken to a hospital.

By the time they returned, Mohbad had been moved outside, making it impossible to administer the newly purchased medication.
