NPF Cautions Against Ill-Timed Nationwide Protest

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a cautionary statement regarding the planned nationwide protest by a group known as the "Take it Back Movement," scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025. The protest is set to coincide with the Federal Government's National Police Day, a significant occasion meant to honor the resilience and dedication of officers and men of the NPF.

In its statement, the NPF clarified its stance on the right to peaceful assembly and association, as guaranteed by the Constitution of Nigeria. However, the force expressed deep concerns over the timing of the protest, especially given its clash with a major national event that will bring together dignitaries from both within and outside the country, including foreign Inspectors-General of Police and diplomats
