Nigerian Government Rejects Allegations from Niger Republic's Military Leader
The Federal Government of Nigeria has firmly dismissed allegations made by General Abdourahamane Tchiani, the military leader of the Niger Republic, claiming a collusion between Nigeria and France to destabilize his country. Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, released a statement categorically rejecting these claims, which he described as "baseless" and existing solely "in the realm of imagination."
The statement emphasized that Nigeria has never engaged in any form of alliance with France or any other nation to sponsor terrorist attacks against the Niger Republic, particularly following the recent undemocratic changes in its leadership. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Chairman of ECOWAS, has shown exemplary leadership by keeping diplomatic channels open with Niger despite its political turmoil, underscoring Nigeria's commitment to fostering peace and maintaining strong ties with its neighbor.
