Nigeria Police Force Debunks Rumors of SARS Reformation

The Nigeria Police Force has officially dismissed rumors and misinformation surrounding the alleged return of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) under a new set of rules.

 In a statement released on Monday, February 10, spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi reaffirmed that SARS, which was disbanded on October 11, 2020, remains dissolved.

"The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is not back in operation," Adejobi stated. "The recent information regarding SARS reformation and rules of engagement should be treated with caution. Nigerians are encouraged to verify the source of any information before accepting it as true.
