Nigeria must build a strong local defence industry 

General Musa emphasized that depending heavily on foreign military equipment weakens national security and slows response efforts. 

He stated that developing a homegrown defence production system would not only boost national security but also create jobs and technological innovation.

He also called for urgent police reform to improve intelligence gathering, logistics, and rapid response capabilities, stressing that internal security challenges cannot be solved by the military alone.

According to him, “A strong and restructured police force, backed by local defence production, is the foundation for a safer and self-reliant Nigeria
