Nigeria Exports First Locally Produced Solar Panels to Ghana
In a major milestone for Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, Levene Photovoltaic Technologies, in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), has completed the country’s first-ever export of locally manufactured solar panels to Accra, Ghana.
This landmark achievement positions Nigeria as an emerging force in clean energy production, marking a decisive step away from dependence on imported solar technologies. Under President Bola Tinubu’s clean energy drive, local solar PV manufacturing capacity has skyrocketed from 120MW to 650MW in record time.
According to the REA, the export demonstrates Nigeria’s growing ability to meet domestic demand while supplying sustainable energy solutions across Africa.
