New Harry Potter Series Actor Paapa Essiedu Backs Trans Rights in Public 

Paapa Essiedu, the actor cast as Severus Snape in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter reboot, has publicly distanced himself from author JK Rowling by signing an open letter in support of the LGBTQ+ community. 

The letter, endorsed by over 400 entertainment industry professionals, expressed solidarity with trans, non-binary, and intersex individuals following a recent UK Supreme Court ruling that reaffirmed biological definitions of sex and womanhood under the Equality Act a decision supported by Rowling.

The letter criticized the ruling, warning that it undermines the lived experiences and safety of gender-diverse individuals in the UK.
