Netherlands to Return Benin Bronzes 

In a landmark cultural restitution, the Netherlands will return 119 Benin bronzes to Nigeria later this month, marking one of the largest repatriations of stolen artefacts to date.

 The Dutch embassy in Nigeria confirmed on June 5 that the artefacts are expected to arrive during the week of June 16, with an official handover ceremony planned for June 21 at the National Museum in Lagos.

Following the ceremony, the bronzes will be relocated to their original home at the National Museum in Benin City, Edo State.
