NDLEA Intercepts Indian Lady with 72 Parcels of Heroin in Chocolate Wraps at Kano Airport; Recovers Gas Cylinder Loaded with Tramadol
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a 42-year-old Indian woman, Ms. Neetu Neetu, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, with 72 parcels of heroin cleverly disguised as chocolate wafer wraps.
The illicit substance, weighing a total of 11 kilograms, was recovered from her luggage after a thorough search during the inward clearance of Qatar Airways flight QR1431 from Bangkok, Thailand, via Vietnam and Doha, on Friday, March 14, 2025.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), stated that drug cartels are increasingly recruiting foreign nationals, including white women, to traffic drugs into Nigeria. However, he assured that advanced intelligence and modern technology have continued to frustrate these attempts.

Upon inspection, 50,000 pills of Tramadol (225mg) were found concealed inside the cylinder. Welding tools had to be used to cut open the sealed compartment.
