NDLEA Arrests Traditional Worship Leader for Drug Trafficking
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a traditional chief priest, Bariu Aliu (alias Malo), linked to drug trafficking activities at the lgunuko shrine in Alpha Beach, Ajah Lekki.
This arrest follows a three-month manhunt and comes after the recovery of 2,760 kg of skunk on October 25, 2024.
Two accomplices of Aliu had previously been arrested, charged, and convicted last year.
In a related operation, NDLEA officers intercepted a shipment bound for Australia, recovering 20 wraps of cocaine weighing 330 grams. The cocaine was concealed within face cream containers at a logistics firm in Lagos
