NASA Astronauts Reflect on Mission, Admit to Shortcomings in First Post-Mission Interview

NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams have opened up for the first time since returning from their over nine-month space mission, acknowledging that there were multiple contributing factors to the unexpected outcome of the mission.

In a joint interview with Fox News, Wilmore admitted that, as the commander of the Crew Flight Test, there were important questions he did not ask and things he overlooked at the time.

"There are many questions that as the commander, I didn't ask. So, I'm culpable," Wilmore said, recognizing that in hindsight, some signals of potential issues were present. Both astronauts acknowledged that NASA, Boeing, and even themselves played roles in the mission's complications, admitting there were shortcomings in both testing and preparation.
