Museveni Backs 86 Year Old Gen. Moses Ali for Another Parliamentary Term in 2026

Uganda’s President, Yoweri Museveni, has thrown his support behind General Moses Ali as the preferred NRM candidate for the Adjumani West Constituency ahead of the 2026 elections. 

The long serving lawmaker and senior military figure has been a dominant force in the area, consistently retaining his seat since 2001.

General Ali confirmed that if elected again, the upcoming 2026–2031 term would mark the end of his political career, signaling his intention to retire from active politics afterward
