One-Party Rule Is Dictatorship — Cardinal Onaiyekan 

Cardinal John Onaiyekan has raised alarm over what he described as a deliberate policy by politicians to keep Nigerians poor and vulnerable in order to consolidate control.

Speaking recently, the former Archbishop of Abuja insisted that impoverishment is not a coincidence but a tactic used by the political class to undermine civic awareness and independence.

He further cautioned against growing moves toward a one-party state, stating that this trajectory constitutes pure dictatorship and a threat to democratic freedoms.
