Many Feared Dead, Others Injured as Fighter Jet Mistakenly Bombs Two Sokoto Communities

A devastating incident occurred on Christmas Day, December 25, when a fighter jet mistakenly bombed two communities in the Silame Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The tragic airstrike has left many villagers feared dead and numerous others injured, according to reports from DailyTrust.

The fighter jet was reportedly targeting the Lakurawa terrorist group when it accidentally struck Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa communities. Malam Yahya, a resident of Silame, stated that these villages are situated near Surame Forest, a known hideout for Lakurawa and bandit groups.
