Lagos Civil Servants on Foreign Training Programs Fail to Return
The Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, has revealed that nearly 30 percent of civil servants sponsored for overseas training have failed to return after completing their programs.
Speaking on Wednesday during the 2025 ministerial briefing at Alausa, Ikeja, marking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's second year in office, Ayantayo explained that the state has heavily invested in foreign training to enhance staff capabilities, with around 8,000 civil servants granted study leave over the last three years.
Unfortunately, only 70 percent came back to resume duty, while 30 percent absconded.
