The tightly contested final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos ended in a goalless draw, forcing the match into a penalty shootout where Kwara United edged past Abakaliki FC with a 4-3 victory.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side held their nerve against their Nigeria National League (NNL) opponents to secure the prestigious domestic cup.
With this victory, Kwara United becomes the 33rd club to lift the Federation Cup in Nigeria’s football history
