Kwankwaso Tells Abba Yusuf to Quit Governorship If He Leaves NNPP

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former governor of Kano State, has reportedly urged the current governor of the state, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, to relinquish the governorship if he intends to defect from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Kwankwaso, who is widely regarded as Yusuf’s political mentor and the key figure behind the NNPP’s victory in Kano, was said to have made it clear that the mandate belongs to the party and the Kwankwasiyya political structure, not to any individual.

The statement comes amid growing speculation over internal disagreements and possible realignments within Kano State’s political landscape
