Kenya Unveils Plans for Its First Nuclear Power Plant Worth $3.9 Billion

Kenya is preparing to embark on the construction of its first nuclear power facility, a project estimated at $3.9 billion. 

The plant, once operational, will supply 1,000 megawatts of electricity in its initial phase, contributing significantly to the nation’s energy mix.

This development is expected to raise Kenya’s electricity capacity by 26.2% from the current 3,812 megawatts installed.

 Looking ahead, authorities project that by 2040, the facility could expand to produce as much as 20,000 megawatts, positioning Kenya among Africa’s leading energy producers.
