JAMB Registrar Oloyede Responds to Resignation Calls
JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishag Oloyede, has firmly rejected calls for his resignation following difficulties encountered during the 2025 UTME examination. Speaking at a stakeholders' meeting in Abuja, he dismissed critics by saying, “Truck pushers cannot direct pilots,” emphasizing their lack of credibility to challenge his leadership.
The demand for his resignation came from the South-East Caucus of the House of Representatives, but Oloyede remained resolute. He announced a mop-up exam for approximately 5.6% of candidates who missed the original UTME, including those absent from previous make-up exams. “This is not extraordinary. In any academic environment, make-up exams are normal,” he stated.
