Kemi Olunloyo Reveals Painful Family History as She Rejects Condolences Over Father’s Death

Controversial Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo has openly declined public condolences following the recent passing of her father, citing years of emotional trauma and family struggles.

In a deeply personal video shared on her Instagram, Olunloyo revealed that her childhood was marked by severe emotional and physical hardship. She spoke about dark family experiences, including alleged infidelity, abuse, and disturbing rituals that she claims contributed to long-standing pain within their household.

Rather than accept messages of sympathy, Olunloyo directed well-wishers to her late father's Facebook page, stating that her relationship with him was deeply strained due to years of what she described as harmful behavior and poor decisions.

She recounted a tragic incident from her teenage years involving a delayed family trip to Lagos. According to her, despite her mother’s warning about the late departure, her father insisted they proceed. On the journey, their car was ambushed by assailants. A rock thrown into the vehicle struck her 8-year-old brother, Tayo, leaving him critically injured, while the driver lost his life on the spot. The attackers then set the vehicle ablaze.
