Iran Launches Missiles at U.S. Airbase in Qatar in Retaliation for Nuclear Site Strikes
Iran launched a missile strike targeting the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar America's largest military installation in the Middle East in retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities. Iran fired approximately 14 medium and short range ballistic missiles, having provided Qatar and U.S. authorities with advance notice.
Qatar's air defense systems intercepted the missiles, and no casualties or major structural damage were reported .
The move was part of a symbolic response to demonstrate Iran’s ability to retaliate while avoiding significant escalation . U.S. President Donald Trump described the attack as “very weak,” praised Iran for the early warning.
