Investigation Launched into Alleged Sexual Abuse of 13-Year-Old Girl in India

A tragic case has emerged from Kerala, India, involving the alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl, who has now come forward as an 18-year-old. The girl, from a family of poor wage laborers, disclosed to a counselor that she was abused by a neighbor in 2020. The alleged abuser reportedly filmed the incidents and may have used the footage to blackmail and manipulate her into enduring further sexual exploitation by numerous other men and boys over the subsequent five years.

The police have confirmed that they became aware of the situation after the girl detailed her horrific experiences to a visiting counselor at her college. As a result, authorities have arrested a total of 58 individuals, including men and boys, on charges of sexual assault, rape, and gang rape
