IBB’s Autobiography Launch Raises Nearly ₦17bn from Business Titans

At the public launch of his autobiography, A Journey in Service, former military President Ibrahim Babangida received nearly ₦17 billion in donations from Nigeria’s business elite. The high-profile event, organized by the IBB Presidential Library Foundation, highlighted Babangida’s legacy and drew support from top industry leaders.

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, led the contributions with a pledge of ₦8 billion, structured as ₦2 billion per year over four years. Following closely, Abdulsamad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, donated ₦5 billion. Other prominent figures, including billionaire businesswoman Folorunsho Alakija, also made contributions, though some chose not to disclose their donation amounts publicly.

The book, which chronicles Babangida’s years in service and leadership, is now available for purchase at leading bookstores, including @Rovingheights, priced at ₦40,000 for the paperback edition and ₦50,000 for the hardback.
