Former PDP Chairman Son Sentenced to 14 Years
A Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on Tuesday sentenced Nasir Ali, son of former PDP National Chairman Ahmadu Ali, alongside Sierra Leonean Christian Taylor, to 14 years in prison each for their role in a N2.2 billion oil subsidy scam.
Justice Mojisola Dada found the two men and their company, Nasaman Oil Services Limited, guilty on a revised 57-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The defendants were initially charged in 2012 with multiple offenses including conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretenses, forgery, and the use of false documents, violating the Advance Fee Fraud Act of 2006 and Lagos State Criminal Law of 2011.
