FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Responds to Peter Odili's Remarks on Rivers State Governance

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a strong response to comments made by former Rivers State Governor Dr. Peter Odili. Odili had suggested that the current governor, Siminilayi Fubara, had successfully prevented Wike from turning Rivers State into his personal property.

During a Special Thanksgiving Service in Port Harcourt, Wike expressed his disbelief at Odili's claims, stating, "Must you be a trader all the time? As governor for eight years, what else are you looking for?" He emphasized that he had not initially intended to respond but felt compelled to address the situation after hearing of Odili's remarks on social media.

Wike challenged Odili's assertions, questioning who has truly transformed Rivers State into a personal estate. He pointed out that Odili's family members hold significant positions within the state government, including his wife as chair of the Governing Council and his daughters in various roles. "Who has now turned Rivers State to his private estate?" Wike asked, highlighting what he perceives as contradictions in Odili's statements
