Dangote Refinery May Cut Fuel Prices as Rivals Undercut in Lagos Market
The Dangote Refinery may be forced to review and possibly reduce its fuel prices in response to mounting competition from independent depots in Lagos, where petrol and diesel are now being sold at more competitive rates.
As of early June 2025, several private depots such as AITEO, MENJ, AA Rano, and Integrated—have started offering petrol at prices that rival or slightly undercut Dangote's rate of ₦827 per litre.
For instance, AITEO is currently selling at ₦826 per litre. Though the margin is slim, it is enough to sway marketers looking to cut down operational costs.
