CPPE Urges New NMDPRA, NUPRC CEOs to Cut Import Dependence, Boost Investment
The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has called on the newly appointed chief executives of Nigeria’s petroleum regulatory agencies to prioritise reducing the country’s dependence on fuel imports while creating a stronger environment for domestic and foreign investment.
The appeal follows the confirmation by the Senate of Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). Their appointments were made by President Bola Tinubu and confirmed by the upper legislative chamber on December 19.
