Burkina Faso’s military ruler, President Ibrahim Traoré, has dissolved the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI)
According to a government decree, the move was made because the CENI had become “budget intensive” and “incoherent” with the country’s transitional framework.
Officials claimed the decision aims to protect national sovereignty and limit foreign interference.
