Benue Crisis: President Tinubu Orders Governor Alia to Spearhead Reconciliation and Restore Peace

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for an immediate end to the ongoing violence in Benue State, directing Governor Hyacinth Alia to take charge of reconciliation efforts and bring peace back to the region.

In a statement, President Tinubu said: “I have been briefed on the senseless bloodshed in Benue. Enough is enough! I have directed the security agencies to act decisively, arrest the perpetrators from all sides, and prosecute them.”

He further stressed the need for community and political leaders to avoid fueling tensions with inflammatory comments. “This is a moment for Governor Alia to act as a statesman to bring all stakeholders together in dialogue and reconciliation in order to foster peace and unity in Benue.
