Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has officially kicked off the construction of a $2.5 billion fertilizer plant in Ethiopia a major investment aimed at strengthening the continent’s agricultural backbone.

Speaking on the project, Dangote emphasized that the initiative represents a strategic push toward Africa’s industrialization and a proactive step to secure the continent’s food future as its population is expected to hit 2.5 billion by 2050.
