Activist Harrison Gwamnishu Sends a Thought-Provoking Memo on Kidnapping to Delta State Governor

Days after stepping down from his role as an aide to the Governor of Delta State, activist Harrison Gwamnishu has shared a powerful memo urging action against the rising wave of kidnappings in the state.

In his memo, Gwamnishu criticized the government for its lack of a concrete plan to combat kidnappers and highlighted the failures of current security operations.

According to Gwamnishu, the so-called "Operation Sweep" has caused more harm to innocent civilians than it has helped in tackling violent crimes. He pointed out that there is no record of the operation intervening in violent situations, despite being funded by the government.

He further expressed concern that while the anti-kidnapping squad and vigilante groups are actively working to address the issue, they are being neglected in favor of ineffective operations.
