22 Injured as Bus Rams into Christmas Celebrants in Gombe

On Christmas Day, a commercial bus collided with a group of celebrants in the Tumfure community of Gombe, injuring 22 individuals. The procession was en route to the Government House and the Gombe Emir's Palace to pay homage when the unfortunate accident occurred.

According to Buhari Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the Gombe State police, the injured were promptly taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital and Specialist Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported from the incident, which has raised concerns about safety protocols during public celebrations.

In response to the accident, the police have initiated an investigation, with the Commissioner of Police directing the Motor Traffic Department to conduct a thorough probe. This investigation aims to determine the circumstances leading to the collision and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
