“When I met Regina, she always talked about one thing studying in America. Anytime we sat down to talk, she would say, ‘I want to attend an American university.’ That dream was always in her heart.

As her husband, I felt it was my duty to support her. So I assured her, ‘Don’t worry, you will go to that school.’ And I didn’t just talk. I did everything possible to make sure she got into the university she wanted in the United States.

When it finally happened, she was so happy. She said a whole lot of beautiful things to me. She appreciated me, thanked me, and even promised to stand by me no matter what.

But sometimes I sit back and wonder… was all that love and appreciation just because of what I could do for her? Was it all just to achieve her dream and move on?
