Expert Exposes Alleged Deceit Behind Refinery Revival: "Warri, PH, and Kaduna Were Never Truly Operational"

Energy analyst Kelvin Emmanuel has sparked fresh outrage after claiming that the much-publicized recommissioning of Nigeria’s Warri, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna refineries was nothing more than a staged spectacle. According to Emmanuel, what Nigerians watched on television was a scripted event, not a genuine return to production. 

His comments come amid reports that one of the refineries heavily funded with nearly $897 million quietly ceased operations on January 25, 2025, due to a critical fault in its Crude Distillation Unit’s main heater.
