U.S. Treasury Hits Record $22.3 Billion
The U.S. Treasury reported a historic $22.3 billion in tariff revenue for May, the highest monthly figure since the current trade duty policies were implemented.
This sharp increase follows collections of $16.5 billion in April and $8.8 billion in March, highlighting a rapid surge in customs income.
Experts attribute the spike to increased tariffs on imports from major trading partners, including China and Europe.
With this latest boost, total tariff revenue for the year has climbed to approximately $70 billion.
