US Halts Immigration Processing from 19 Countries Amid Security Review

The United States has temporarily suspended immigration application processing from 19 nations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, citing national security concerns after a recent attack in Washington.

Applicants from the affected countries will now undergo enhanced security screening, and authorities have not provided a timeline for when normal processing will resume.

Some of the nations facing the strictest restrictions include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen, many of which were already partially subject to travel limitations
