US Ambassador Denies Allegations of USAID Funding Boko Haram

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has dismissed allegations that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is funding Boko Haram or any other terrorist organization.

 He stated that there is no credible evidence to support such claims.

Speaking after a meeting with the Nigeria Governors Forum in Abuja, Ambassador Mills reaffirmed the U.S. government's commitment to fighting terrorism and supporting Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts. He emphasized that USAID’s financial aid is strictly monitored and directed towards humanitarian assistance, education, and economic development in Nigeria.
