UK PM Keir Starmer Fires Back at Kemi Badenoch, Calls Her "Desperate for Relevance"
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has strongly criticized Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, accusing her of seeking attention at all costs.
During plenary on Wednesday, February 26, Starmer dismissed Badenoch’s recent remarks about cutting the aid budget, describing her as a “self-proclaimed saviour of Western civilisation” who is simply desperate for relevance.
Badenoch had earlier claimed that Starmer followed her advice on reducing the aid budget, while also questioning inconsistencies in the defence spending figures announced by the government.
In her words:
"Over the weekend, I suggested to the Prime Minister that the aid budget should be cut — and I’m pleased he took my advice. It’s the fastest response I’ve ever had from the Prime Minister.
"However, he announced £13.4 billion in additional defence spending yesterday, yet this morning the Defence Secretary said the actual increase is £6 billion. Which figure is correct?
