Media personality Tunde Onakoya has expressed deep empathy for the situation of a mother and her daughter, whose story of child labor in Ikoyi went viral after being recorded and posted on social media.

 Onakoya shared a heartfelt message about the pain of seeing a mother humiliated in front of her child and the emotional toll of growing up in poverty. 

Reflecting on his own childhood experiences, Onakoya recalled how his mother used to sweep people's houses and gutters, and how he would often accompany her to help, hiding their labor in the dark to avoid being seen.

In response to the viral incident, Onakoya pledged to take full responsibility for the daughter's education, offering a multimillion naira scholarship to support her through university.
