Tinubu Submits Fresh ₦1.48 Trillion Budget for Rivers State Amid Emergency Rule

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a revised ₦1.48 trillion budget proposal for Rivers State to the National Assembly, following the Supreme Court’s nullification of the state’s original 2025 budget.

The President explained that the submission is necessary due to the current emergency rule in the state and the legal void created by the court’s decision. 

According to the proposal, ₦324 billion is earmarked for infrastructure projects, ₦166 billion for healthcare, ₦75.6 billion for education, and ₦31.4 billion for agricultural development.

The National Assembly is expected to deliberate and approve the proposal in the coming weeks.
