Tinubu Launches ‘Nigeria First Policy’ to Boost Local Industry and End Foreign Product Dependence

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new directive known as the Nigeria First Policy, aimed at strengthening domestic production and reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported goods and services in government contracts.

Under the policy, all federal procurement processes will now prioritize Nigerian-made goods and locally sourced services.

 In instances where local capacity is insufficient, contracts must be structured to develop and enhance Nigerian capabilities.
