Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange, is finally sharing the heartfelt truth behind her decision to end her 10-year marriage to actor Richard Lawson.

In her recently released memoir Matriarch, the 71-year-old reveals that the choice to file for divorce in July 2023 came after a powerful moment of clarity at age 69. “I just woke up one day and felt I deserved more,” she wrote, explaining that while Lawson had many good qualities, the relationship no longer brought her joy or fulfillment.
