SSDC MD Nominee Usoro Akpabio Vows to Revamp Neglected Rural Health Centers
Usoro Akpabio, the nominee for Managing Director of the Sustainable Development Commission (SSDC), has emphasized the urgent need to strengthen healthcare in rural communities.
Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic, Akpabio noted that while attention was heavily focused on urban general hospitals, many rural areas were left behind.
He stressed the importance of revitalizing the country's deteriorating primary health centers.
According to him, the commission will partner with federal and state governments, the Ministry of Health, and federal primary health centers to upgrade and equip local healthcare facilities, ensuring they are better prepared for future health crises.
