South Africa and Morocco continue to dominate Africa’s automotive sector, recording vehicle outputs of 599,755 and 559,645 units respectively in 2024. While South Africa experienced a 5% drop in production placing it 20th worldwide Morocco registered a 5% increase, securing the 23rd spot in global rankings.

However, South Africa’s export performance faces new hurdles. Tariffs introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump have disrupted trade flows.
