Senate Approves ₦1.49 Trillion 2025 Budget for Rivers State

The Nigerian Senate has approved a ₦1.485 trillion budget for Rivers State for the 2025 fiscal year.

 The decision came after the Senate reviewed the findings of the Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State during a Committee of Supply session.

The newly passed bill authorizes the withdrawal of ₦1,485,662,592,442 from the state’s Consolidated Revenue Fund to cover expenses up until December 31, 2025.

According to the budget breakdown, ₦120.8 billion has been earmarked for debt servicing, ₦287.38 billion allocated for recurrent (non-debt) spending, and ₦1.077 trillion designated for capital projects across the state.
