Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" Surprises Box Office, Beating "Minecraft Movie"

Ryan Coogler’s latest project, Sinners, has topped the box office this weekend, unexpectedly outshining the popular Minecraft Movie. Starring Michael B.

 Jordan in a dual role as twins, Sinners earned $45.6 million in North American theaters, marking a strong debut for the horror/adventure film, according to studio reports.

The Warner Bros. production had a production budget of around $90 million. 

Coogler, known for his work on Black Panther and Creed, secured a deal that awards him a percentage of gross ticket sales and ownership of the film after 25 years.
