Rivers State Administrator Ibas Pledges Stability, Warns Against Disorder

The newly appointed Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), has vowed to restore stability and maintain order in the state amid ongoing political tensions.

In his first statewide address on Thursday, Ibas assured Rivers residents that his role is not political but strictly to restore normalcy following the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu. He emphasized that his administration’s priority is to rebuild trust, uphold the rule of law, and ensure Rivers remains Nigeria’s key oil and gas hub.

Ibas urged for unity and cooperation, stressing that the challenges facing the state require collective effort rather than political division. While promising to protect citizens' rights, he issued a firm warning against acts of lawlessness, stating that any attempt to disrupt public peace will not be tolerated.
